The Solar Eclipse 2017

On Friday we had a great time learning about the Solar Eclipse that happened in America earlier in the week. We watched a video on youtube to learn about how a solar eclipse occurs and then we wrote reports on what we found out. We had lots of fun completing an impromptu art piece too! Did you know that the next solar eclipse in NZ will happen in 2066? We figured out that the children in Room 11 will be either 56, 57 or 58 years old by then (let's not talk about how old Miss Chalmers will be!!)

Thank you Ella-Zae for taking the photos!

Great work class. I learnt a lot. I can't believe I will have to wait until the year 2000 66 to see the next solar eclipse.... I will be a very old man by then (Kurt thinks I am already very old). Maybe I should fly to a country that will have a solar eclipse sooner. Like Argentina on the 2 july 2019!! - Dion
